Affinity Review 2026: $2,000 a Seat, Worth It for VC?

Published pricing, review-platform data and a verdict for VC and private equity teams.

Summary

Affinity review, September 2026: Affinity is a relationship intelligence CRM for VC and private equity. It lists three paid tiers at $2,000, $2,300 and $2,700 per user per year, holds 4.4/5 across 73 G2 reviews and takes about two months to implement. Automatic email and calendar capture is the strength. Cost, clunky reporting and thin customization are the recurring complaints. Best for funds of five or more people that source through warm introductions. Attio Pro runs two to three times cheaper per seat.

7.4 /10

Affinity is the CRM to buy when your fund's edge is the partnership's shared email history. Automatic capture and warm-path scoring earn a 4.4/5 across 73 G2 reviews, at $2,000 to $2,700 per user per year. The price is two to three times Attio Pro per seat, and reporting draws repeated complaints. Fit is strong for five-plus person funds, weak for solo investors.

This is a desk review, not a hands-on trial. Affinity has no free trial and sells through a demo, so we did not run the product on our own deal flow and we do not claim usage hours. What we did: read the published pricing page on 30 September 2026 and computed cost at 5, 10 and 20 seats; read all 73 G2 reviews' rating distribution and the ten most recent written reviews; read the three Capterra reviews, the Trustpilot profile and the TrustRadius listing; and compared third-party price tallies for Attio, 4Degrees and Folk. Two screenshots were captured live from affinity.co on 30 September 2026. Three interface screenshots are vendor-supplied images from Affinity's G2 listing and show an older interface version. Anything that comes from a vendor claim is labelled as such.

Should your fund buy Affinity?

YES if you...

  • Funds of 5 to 20 people where most deals arrive through warm introductions
  • Teams that lose CRM data because nobody logs meetings by hand
  • Partnerships that want the whole firm's email history searchable as a network

NO if you...

  • Solo angels and two-person funds, where a $4,000 to $5,400 annual floor buys features you will not use
  • Firms whose daily work is LP reporting and portfolio operations rather than sourcing
  • Teams that need custom objects and fine-grained automation, where reviewers report limits

Pros and cons in detail

Pros

  • Capture runs without manual logging Reviewers repeatedly cite emails, meetings and attachments landing on records with no extra steps, which is the reason CRMs decay at funds.
  • Warm path scoring is the differentiator Relationship strength scores and ally paths rank who can introduce you. Most alternatives offer this only partially.
  • Pipeline and network share one dataset Lists, Kanban stages and reminders sit on the same records, so sourcing, diligence and follow-up avoid a second system.
  • Fast enough to be adopted by non-technical partners G2 reviewers highlight ease of use for people unfamiliar with CRM structures.

Cons

  • Price scales linearly with every seat Ten seats cost $20,000 to $27,000 a year on list. A 0.5/5 G2 review calls the cost extreme relative to the feature set for an emerging manager.
  • Reporting and analytics feel dated A G2 reviewer says reporting is still clunky and the UX needs an update; another wants a better search function and a more useful mobile app.
  • Customization and automation are limited Reviewers ask for finer user-level settings, more integrations and more automations. Workflow Automations sit only in the $2,700 tier.
  • Set-up takes real time before value shows G2 reviewers average two months to implement and describe configuration as slow for smaller teams.
Verdict

Final verdict: strong graph, steep price

7.4 /10

Affinity does one thing better than the cheaper tools: it turns a partnership's email and calendar exhaust into a ranked map of who can introduce whom. If warm introductions drive your deal flow, that map is the product, and a fund of five to twenty people will recover the cost in analyst hours and in deals not lost to a cold approach. Reviewers who use it daily call it the source of truth for network and pipeline.

The case weakens fast outside that profile. At ten seats the list bill is $20,000 to $27,000 a year against roughly $8,300 to $9,500 for Attio Pro, and the four one-star G2 reviews all come back to cost versus features. Reporting, search and customization draw complaints even from satisfied users, and the Notetaker, AI Chat and agent layer only starts at the $2,300 tier.

Our score is 7.4/10. Buy it when the relationship graph is your edge and the budget treats $2,000 to $2,700 a seat as a normal line item. Otherwise price Attio or 4Degrees first.

Common questions about Affinity

How much does Affinity cost in 2026?
Affinity publishes three paid tiers billed annually: Essential at $2,000, Scale at $2,300 and Advanced at $2,700 per user per year. Enterprise is custom. Ten seats cost $20,000, $23,000 or $27,000 a year on list, before any negotiated discount.
Is there a free trial of Affinity?
No free trial is listed on the pricing page. Access is through a demo request and a sales conversation, which is why this review relies on public sources.
Is Affinity the same as Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo?
No. This review covers Affinity, the relationship intelligence CRM from affinity.co. Affinity by Serif, the design and photo software sold as a one-off purchase, is a different product with separate ratings.
What do G2 reviewers say about Affinity?
Affinity holds 4.4/5 across 73 G2 reviews, with 79% at five stars. Praise centers on ease of use, Gmail integration and automatic capture. Complaints center on cost, reporting, customization and set-up time.
Is Affinity worth it for a small VC fund?
It is worth it for funds of about five or more people who source through warm introductions. For a solo investor or a two-person fund, the per-seat price and feature depth are hard to justify against Attio or a spreadsheet.
How does Affinity compare with Attio on price?
Published-price tallies put Attio Pro at $828 to $948 per user per year, against $2,000 to $2,700 for Affinity. At ten seats the gap is roughly $17,500 to $18,700 a year against the Advanced tier.
How long does Affinity take to implement?
G2 reviewers average two months. Affinity says most firms are live within 60 days and that the firm's network is mapped in the first 24 hours.
